Altus goes through a rigorous process each year to ensure that the curriculum helps every student, no matter their learning speed, be prepared for and after high school.

Altus ensures every child gets the attention they need to succeed academically. We have tutors that work one on one with children who need the help.
Altus also cares about every child’s emotional well being. We have a therapist at the school that every child has access to.

The understanding of objective moral reality and the development of a strong moral character based on the learning and practice of human virtue.

The true source, purpose, and beauty of our physical nature in the context of our human dignity as persons and the respectful recognition of this dignity in our relationship with others.
INTELLECTUAL
The acquisition of knowledge and the development and practice of the analytical and critical thinking skills that will enable our students to be self-directed, lifelong learners capable of discerning the truth.
SPIRITUAL
The recognition and development of our relationship with God and how that relationship informs the discovery and development of the unique vocation of each of our students to serve God and others.
Altus Academy is a private, independent, nonprofit, elementary school that provides a tuition-free college preparatory education for families. We aim to serve students from historical minority groups, low-income households, first-generation college graduate households, and some of the most challenging neighborhoods and communities in the Chicago area.
