All donations from individuals like you support the mission and vision of Altus Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing a tuition-free, faith-based, elementary school education for underrepresented families. Together, through high-quality instruction and character formation, we equip students in some of Chicago's most challenging neighborhoods with the skills needed for success in college-preparatory high schools and, ultimately, in college, career, and life.

  • Cash gifts — which are essential to the Altus Academy Annual Fund and capital needs — are fully tax-deductible (for those who itemize) and provide the most convenient form of giving. Checks may be sent to:

  • The Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is becoming an increasingly popular way to make a charitable gift. DAFs can provide you with immediate tax benefits while making your charitable giving easier. Here are two simple ways you can make a gift through your DAF:

    • Make an outright gift by suggesting a grant to Altus Academy

    • Designate Altus Academy to receive all or a portion of the fund value upon the termination of the fund.

    You can select the option that best suits your philanthropic and financial goals to support Altus Academy. Just contact your fund administrator to request a distribution or beneficiary form or download the appropriate form(s) from your administrator’s website.

  • By committing to a recurring gift, you are providing Altus Academy with consistent and reliable funding for students and faculty through a monthly gift.  It’s easy to enroll with a debit or credit card using our safe and secure online giving form. Just "Fix It and Forget It"!

    How it works:

    • You determine the amount of your monthly donation.

    • Altus will charge the gift to your credit card monthly on your preferred date

    • Your online donation is secure and flexible and, while your gift is active, you will receive fewer requests for your support throughout the year.

  • If you hold securities which would result in a long-term capital gain if sold, you can make an outright gift to Altus Academy and realize substantial savings on capital gains tax on the appreciation. Thus, the actual cost to you as a donor is often far less than the value of your gift to the school. It is recommended that you consult with your tax advisor to discuss the latest IRS rules and regulations.
